Services

Individual non clinical Therapeutic arts sessions tailored to support you through the various stages of menopause and midlife. These sessions are designed to help you express and process your feelings creatively and engage in art making for stress release in a kind and supportive space.

Each session typically begins with a grounding body scan or Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) exercise. This mindful practice encourages relaxation by guiding you to focus on your body’s sensations, helping to become more attuned to any areas of tension or discomfort. Starting with these techniques can alleviate physical stress and set a calm, centered tone for the session. All exercises are by invitation, you set the pace and decide what feels comfortable for you.

Engaging in therapeutic arts can involve exploring themes related to ageing, identity and sense of self. The act of creating provides an outlet for expression and can also help alleviate symptoms like anxiety. I suggest practical ways to use creativity as an outlet for stress relief, the idea of doing more of what brings you joy - because perimenopause can suck the joy from your soul.

** Note - art supplies needed for sessions are not supplied and must be purchased by you.

** Required supplies - coloured pencils, oil pastels, water colour paint palette + plain A4 paper : these supplies can be found at Officeworks for under 20AUD.

The Middle Mess Arts Club is a space for midlife women who are tired of pretending everything’s fine when it’s clearly not. This isn’t about fixing you or turning your chaos into a “journey” - it’s about carving out space to be real, make things with your hands, and feel a little more like yourself again. Inside the club you’ll find creative prompts, low-pressure projects, and a supportive community that gets what it means to be pulled in ten directions and still feel unseen. Group sessions are relaxed, gently guided, and absolutely not about being good at art. We meet online, cameras optional, materials simple - think collage, mark-making, scribbles, textures, colours. There’s space to share if you want, or just quietly make something while listening in. I value honesty over hustle, process over perfection, and connection over performance. Whether you’re burnt out, curious, or just craving something that’s about you for once - this is your invitation to exhale and make a little space amongst the chaos. The club is open now and held online via ZOOM weekly : sign up to my newsletter for updates.
